Career Symposium
Partnering to Inspire Tomorrow’s Leaders
The Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce proudly partners with the Rural Municipality of Piney, Sunrise Corner Economic Development and Ross L Gray School to offer the annual Community Career Symposium. This free event brings together employers, local businesses and non-profit groups to share the wide variety of opportunities available in Southeast Manitoba for both young people and adults.
The third annual event on April 23, 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions. There were an anticipated 170 students from Arborgate, Shevchenko and Ross L Gray. In addition there was an estimate of 100+ community members hoping to join the event. The Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce is hopeful to host their event in fall 2021 at the Sprague Community Centre if restrictions allow.
Special thanks to the Manitoba Government, Premier Tech, Sky Blue Water Inc. and Clearview Co-op for their generous funding and in-kind donations for the 2020 Symposium. This event would not be possible without their support and it is greatly appreciated.

Supporting and Guiding Our Youth
In the summer of 2021, the Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce brought on their first employee, Arabella Rookley, to pose as a marketing coordinator. Over the summer months she advanced and completed many of the initiatives that the PRCC was working on. Arabella surveyed the students of Ross L Gray and Arborgate to gain better perspective about how to move forward with the various youth-oriented initiatives. The results reinforced the PRCC’s vision for a youth membership and mentorship. By the fall of 2021, the PRCC hopes to welcome new youth members to the PRCC community.
