January 20, 2026 — At its annual general meeting on January 15, the Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce (PRCC) marked 2025 as a milestone year, celebrating both its 10th anniversary and a period of renewed momentum, innovation, and community collaboration that continues to strengthen the region’s business ecosystem.
Throughout 2025, PRCC advanced its mission to foster economic development, provide value to members, and build strong partnerships across the region. Membership reached an all-time high of 33 businesses, with eight new members joining – double the growth seen in 2024 – demonstrating increasing confidence in the Chamber’s leadership and programming. In fact, seven new members have joined so far in January 2026, so it looks like another record year ahead.
Key 2025 Highlights
- Youth Entrepreneur Challenge: In partnership with the Rural Municipalities of Piney and Stuartburn, local schools, and Sunrise Corner Economic Development, PRCC launched its first Youth Entrepreneur Challenge. The initiative connected students with local business leaders, equipping youth with practical entrepreneurial skills and strengthening the future talent pipeline for the region.
- Enhanced Communication & Outreach: PRCC introduced its e-newsletter in November, achieving a strong 63% open rate and providing a consistent platform for sharing business resources, events, and member news. Social media engagement also grew, with over 23,000 content views and a 7.5% increase in followers.
- Community-Building Initiatives: The second edition of the Hello Neighbour Welcome Kit was launched, with nearly 150 kits delivered since the program’s inception – connecting newcomers to local businesses and services while supporting PRCC member promotion.
- Tools for Innovation: Through strategic partnerships, PRCC advanced its Library of Things concept, supporting access to maker equipment and skills training through a new regional Maker Space in partnership with Buffalo Point First Nation Health & Wellness.
- Professional Development & Advocacy: A robust speaker series addressed topics ranging from tax support and employee benefits to artificial intelligence and crime prevention, while PRCC continued advocacy and planning work on critical regional priorities such as assisted living housing through the South East Community Services Cooperative.
Looking Ahead to 2026
Building on this momentum, PRCC is entering 2026 focused on regional membership growth, deeper engagement, expanded partnerships, and volunteer involvement. Priorities include advancing major community projects, enhancing professional development offerings, and continuing to clearly communicate the tangible benefits of Chamber membership.
Incoming President Jason Ginter looks forward to continuing the momentum from 2025 to the 2026 program year:
“I joined PRCC in 2025 after being invited by a veteran entrepreneur in my community who had been a founder of the Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce. He also encouraged my daughter to enter the Youth Entrepreneur Challenge. It was a great experience for her and her peers to receive business coaching and then present their businesses to a panel of local business owners. The value of PRCC’s programs in the community is undeniable and I look forward to leading this dynamic group of volunteers.”
Outgoing Chamber President John Prevost emphasized the power of collaboration:
“While every business makes an impact on its own, real progress happens when we work together. Chamber membership opens the door to shared ideas, meaningful relationships, and practical support that help businesses not just operate, but truly prosper – and when our businesses thrive, our entire community benefits.”
As we look to the future, the Piney Regional Chamber of Commerce invites businesses across the region to get involved, share their voice, and help shape a strong, sustainable local economy for years to come.
